MONUMENT NO. 443623

DESCRIPTION + /

Serving as a gatepost in the lane near Teigncombe, close to the junction of lanes from Leigh Bridge and from Yeo, is a cross socket stone set up on edge in the hedgebank. It is approximately circular with rectangular socket hole completely penetrating the stone. This is almost certainly the base of a wayside cross. Mr Somers Cocks believes that this base belongs to the cross near Leigh Bridge and that the cross originally stood at Teigncombe.
