SCORHILL CIRCLE

ALTERNATIVE NAME:  GIDLEIGH CIRCLE, SCORHILL STONE CIRCLE

The remains of a Bronze Age stone circle visible as 23 granite standing stones up to 2.25m high and a further 11 recumbent stones. The circle is 27m in diameter. The tallest stone is 8 feet 2 inches above ground and the smallest is 2 feet 8 inches and were close-set, 2-3 feet apart. Although previously named 'Gidleigh Circle' it is now commonly called 'Scorhill Circle'. It is a Scheduled Monument.
