Summary : The remains of a ring cairn lie 45m SW of the W end of a stone row (SX 56 SE 15) at the foot of the SW facing slope below Great Trowelsworthy Tor. The Bronze Age ring cairn, recorded by previous authorities, is visible as an earthwork on Environment Agency 1m Lidar data flown in 2019 and 2021 Historic England orthomosaic aerial photography. The site was mapped from aerial sources in 2023 during the Historic England Dartmoor-Plym project.

More information : At SX 57426393, there is a hut circle, internal diameter 8.7m. by 7.5m. It has tumbled walling 0.5m. high and from 1.5m. to 3.0m. wide but would seem to be of Type 2 with small boulders forming the inner face. On the outer face there is one large orthostat, 1.3m. long and 0.8m. high. The entrance, 1.0m. wide in the north-east.

SX 57436395. The remains of a ring cairn lie 45m SW of the W end of a stone row (SX 56 SE 15) at the foot of the SW facing slope below Great Trowelsworthy Tor. Measuring 8.1m N to S by 8.5m overall it consists of a circular turf and stone bank between 1.5m and 1.9m wide and a maximum of 0.6m high enclosing a levelled grass-covered area. The enclosing bank is pierced by a relatively recent opening in the E side and traces of internal facing lies in the N side.

Bronze Age hut circle, with an internal diameter of 7.5m, with walls up to 3m thick and 0.45m high. The walls are built of earth and stone, there is an entrance either in the SE or NE. Scheduled
SX 5741 6387. A prehistoric settlement including at least 3 stone hut circles, 3 enclosures, fragmentary lengths of walling and at least one area of cleared ground. The hut circles survive as circular or oval shaped areas defined by an earth and stone wall. A probable clearance cairn stands within the cleared area. The lengths of rubble walling form part of a fragmentary field system. Scheduled. (6)
