A cist comprised of two side stones, one end stone and a
coverstone (Plan). The cist had been covered by a barrow which
lay in a 10ft 6ins diameter cairn circle. Excavations in 1900
yielded no results. (2)
On the slope north of Hen Tor at 395.0m OD is the remains of a
cairn with a cist. The cairn measures 5.6m in diameter and 0.6m in
height with a few stones of a cairn circle 3.2m in diameter
remaining on the west side. The cist is 1.2m by 0.4m and 0.5m
deep with a coverstone 1.6m by 1.1m at its maximum. It is aligned
north north west - south south east.

The Bronze Age cairn and cist, recorded by previous authorities, are visible as a structure and earthwork on 2021 Historic England orthomosaic aerial photography and visualisations of a Digital Elevation Model derived from the orthomosaic. The site was mapped from aerial sources in 2023 during the Historic England Dartmoor-Plym project. It is centred on SX 59628 65772. The cairn mound measures approximately 4.8m in diameter.
