More information : Probable Barrow. There is a mound shown on East Combe Common on the OS 2" drawing at approx SX 488968. (1) SX 48819682. Remains of probable Barrow. The mound, which is quite small, stands in a pasture field which at one time must have been arable as the mound has the appearance of being almost levelled by ploughing. There is no trace of any surrounding ditch. The diameter is 10.0 metres and the height is 0.2 metres. The remains are so slight that they almost warrant the description 'Site of'. (2)
SX 48829681: this mound is situated just below a hill crest and is only visible when viewed from below. Probably a barrow but too far gone to be certain. (3)
