Hob Uid: 437483
Location :
Cornwall
Saltash
Grid Ref : SX4120058100
Summary : Medieval town, first mentioned as a borough in 1298. It can probably be sited to the present hamlet of Forder close to Trematon Castle, rather than the existing Trematon.
More information : (Area: SX 412581) The Medieval town of 'Trematon' may be sited to the present hamlet of Forder rather than to the existing Trematon (SX 394595). The close proximity of Trematon Castle (SX 45 NW 2) would have been ideal for the granting and protection of a market at Forder.

There is no visible proof at Forder for Medieval house platforms or street patterns. (1)

Tremanton is first mentioned in 1298 as a borough assessed separately from the borough of saltash. (2)
