More information : SX 23967203 to SX 24087224. The remains of a well-defined though disturbed stone row which is now approximately 244m long lies along a NE/SW axis. It is apparently not aligned onto any particular feature. It crosses diagonally along a shallow W facing hillslope which has been comprehensively cultivated; extant patches of ridge and furrow are evident cutting almost transversly through the row in places.
The row now comprises at least 85 closely spaced stones set almost, though not precisely, in a straight line. The majority of the stones are firmly embedded into the peat with about 0.2m - 0.4m appearing above ground surface level, however it is clear that other stones including the terminal stones have either been uprooted, displaced or buried, or even perhaps removed by the agricultural activity. Cultivated intake fields lie 36m to the S of the row and the partially cleared remains of a prehistoric field system (SX 27 SW 31) lies to the N.
Surveyed at 1:200 and 1:2500. (1)
