More information : SX 12477295. A row of five stones depicted on AP transcription. (1) Two short stone rows, in very good condition, which could perhaps be more accurately described as the 2 ends of one long row, cross the open moorland of Trehudreth Downs. Situated on a gently sloping north-westerly hillslope between 240m and 268m OD. Each lies on a NE/SW axis and although they share exactly the same alignment they are 350m apart and are not intervisible. A very small mound and two earthfast stones occur on line between the rows, however (unless many more buried stones are discovered) their association with the alignment could be fortuitous. Row A. SX 12447294 to SX 12497295 comprises five upright, three recumbent and at least two buried stones (approximately on line). The overall line is reasonably straight and the largest upright stone is 0.7m long, 0.2m wide and 0.6m high. The small 0.1m high slab at the southern end is set transversely. Row B. SX 12837306 to SX 12897308 has six upright, four recumbent and at least three buried stones approximately on line. The slight bow in the alignment is primarily caused by displaced stones. The largest visible stone, now recumbent, is approximately 1.9m long 0.3m thick and 0.5m wide; it may be a terminal stone. SX 12747303, an earthfast stone protruding 0.2m from the peat. SX 12767304, an earthfast stone of triangular shape 0.1m high. SX 12717302, a mound, 1.3m in diameter and 0.3m high composed of small stone in peat. Surveyed at 1:2500, 1:1000, 1:100. (2)
