Summary : Earthwork remains of a motte and bailey castle, built in circa 1092. The flat topped motte is 11 metres high, which measures circa 18 metres in diameter at the summit and circa 46 metres in diameter at the base. The triangular bailey is situated to the east and has been virtually destroyed by the making of a public park. Scheduled.

The motte is well-preserved, but the bailey has been virtually destroyed in the making of a public park. Published survey (25") revised. (3)

Condition unchanged. To be resurveyed at 1:1250 by field surveyor. (4)

Earthwork remains of a motte and bailey castle constructed in c1092. The flat-topped motte is 11m high, which measures c18m in diameter at the summit and c46m in diameter at the base. To the east is a triangular bailey; scheduled. (6)
