More information : (SW 90394812) College (NR) (remains of ) (NAT). (1) Formerly a monastery, said to have been founded by Athelstan (924-940), which became collegiate in the time of Henry I. The deanery was surrendered to the Bishop of Exeter in 1268 but the college continued with five prebendaries until 1549. (2-3) Trenithan Chancellor. The farmhouse was rebuilt about 1910 on a new site, but retains a pointed granite doorway and a plain two-light mullioned window from the old house. (4) No remains exist of the medieval building except for the above mentioned re-used doorway and window. (5) Probus or Lamprobus was the seat of a Celtic monastery. (See SW 84 NE 6 for collegiate church). (6) Lanbrebois was an endowed community at Domesday. (7-8)
