Summary : A manor house originating in the 15th century and altered and extended later. The earliest phase probably dates from before 1471 and comprised a tower house with a low north west block. This house was extended in the early 16th century by the addition of a two storey range to the south east of the tower. The main range, added in 1570-3, consists of a open hall with services to the right and an open cloister walk to the rear. Further extensions were built in the 17th century. Part of the house was demolished circa 1860 and rebuilt in 1954. Licences were granted for a chapel on the site in 1410 and 1413.

The field on the east side of the present house is called 'Chapel Close'. (3) The north wing of Trerice was demolished in 1860 and it was rebuilt in 1954. See Guide Book. (2) The field called Chapel Close is centred at SW 84265837. (4) Large Manor House, mainly 15th-16th century in date. Comprises mainly E-shaped range abutting a range containing the earlier elements of the house. Listed Grade I. (5)
