DESCRIPTION

Sub-rectangular earthwork enclosure of uncertain date with a possible entrance on the eastern side. Most recently interpreted as a prehistoric round. It measures 120 metres by 125 metres enclosed by a bank 1.2 metres high and 4.2 metres wide fronted by a ditch with an average width of 4 metres.

Caer-Kief is a square camp with rounded corners and an unfinished
bank and ditch to the E. (2)

Hill fort. (3)

SW 78255251 Caer Kief - a univallate sub-square enclosure of
uncertain date situated almost on the crest of a ridge. It is
1 1/4 hectares in area and has a rampart 1.0m.high (partly built
of quarried stone) and a ditch averaging 0.3 metres deep.

There is a small entrance on the east side (near an apparent
mutilation in the rampart) and a second larger entrance on the
north side, although neither is well defined.

The interior is covered by dense vegetation.

The 380 metre long E-W linear bank to the NE is now only
traceable near its easterly end as a lynchet about 0.4 metres
high, and its purpose is obscure.
