More information : (SW 55053130) ST Hilary`s Church (NAT) (1) Although the parish church is dedicated to the famous Saint of Poitiers, there was probably an older and more local dedication which is nowlost; Pearce lists St Hilary as a pre-Saxon graveyard on the evidence of the inscribed stone in the churchyard (see SW 53 SE4). (3) The church was given to the priory of St Michael`s Mount in the 12th century but the present building is the result of a re- building in 1853 fromwhich only the 13th (4) or 14th (2) century W tower with spire has survived.
