More information : SW 38173259 Barrow at Truthwall. Remains extant. (1) This is a furze and grass covered mound, with no surrounding ditch, constructed on a slight eastern slope. It is 0.6m high on the W and 1.1m high on the east. A central depression, 0.6m deep, looks as if an excavation has been attempted, but apart from exposing a stone and earth content it does not indicate the purpose of the mound. Mr P Pool, of the W Cornwall Field Club, suggests that it may be mining refuse, but in view of its regular shape and low profile it is considered that this is almost certainly a bowl barrow. There are no traces of any diggings in the immediate vicinity which would identify the mound as a spoil heap. A 25" survey has been made at SW 38183257. (2) No change to previous information. (3) Listed. (4)
