More information : SW 365257. A cross was found recently lying deep in the soil beside the boulder from which it was almost certainly cut. It was erected in a new socket cut into the boulder in 1973 by the Penzance Old Cornwall Society. The site is not on a path. (1) A wheel headed cross 1.5m. high and in section 0.35m. by 0.25m., the head having a diameter of 0.6m. The stone has a Greek cross in relief on both faces the lower limb extending the full length of the shaft. There is no bearing or moulding around the head. As noted by Miss Russell the cross is set, at SW 36492570, in a triangular boulder 0.2m. high and with sides 1.5m. long. Surveyed at 1:2500. (2)
