Summary : The traditional location where King Harold was thought to have been killed during the Battle of Hastings in 1066. The high altar of the Abbey Church of Battle Abbey, which was completed in 1094, was said to have been positioned on this spot. A square commemorative stone marks the location of Harold's death.

A stone tablet is erected here on the site where King Harold
fell during the Battle of Hastings AD 1066. It is situate within
