More information : (TQ 500726) Deneholes (TI) (29 shown in 'Cavey's Spring') (1) There is a group of deneholes in Cavey's Spring, a small part of Joyden's Wood, 500 or 600 yards SW of Stankey. (2) There are abundant 'caves' in Joyden's Wood and the copses about it, one of which is Cavey's Spring. (Diagram shows a concentration of some 30 to 40 deneholes or collapsed deneholes at TQ 500726). (3) In Cavey's Spring, a dense wood, there is a fine group of deneholes. Some are open and of considerable depth, others, shown as open on OS, have now collapsed or have been deliberately filled in during the construction of a path through the wood. AM Surveys amended.
