DARENTH COURT ROMAN VILLA

The site of a large Roman courtyard villa, one of the largest villa complexes in the country with bath house, hypocaust, outbuildings and possible fulling plant. Finds from excavation have included painted wall plaster, parts of a tessellated floor, bronze sculpture, pottery and Roman coins. There is also evidence to suggest that the complex had an agricultural purpose.
