At the South-West angle of the City of London. Founded between 1066 and 1110. It was demolished in 1213 and the site was acquired by the Dominicans in 1276. (2)

A new castle was built east of Blackfriars in 1276 and was also called Baynards Castle. (3)

Excavations at Baynards Castle located part of the castle. (4)
