Summary : A church with 11th century origins, though most now dating from the late 12th and early 13th centuries. The church comprises an aisled nave, chancel, a former chapel (now the vestry), a second chapel, a 16th century porch and a tower of 1843. The building is of flint rubble with a tiled roof and shingled spire. Within the church, on the west wall, is an important wall painting of circa 1200.

Nave wall has a painting of the Ladder of Salvation, c.1190 -
one of the most important murals of its date in England
