Summary : Earthwork remains of a possible Roman field system.
More information : [Centred at TQ 23205365 & TQ 23175405.] Two series of banks and ditches thought to be boundaries associated with the Roman Villa [TQ 25SW ] were investigated in 1948/49. A section-trench across one of the ditches was inconclusive. [Centred TQ 23305400] Portion of Field system plotted by A.W.G. Lowther. Extension of this field system visible on APs. Fragments of this 'field system' can be observed in rough ground between greens and fairways of Walton Heath Golf Course, the remainder can no longer be detected, and may have been ploughed out during the last war. It is doubtfully Roman. No further information. Description still correct.
