DESCRIPTION

The remains of a small Roman villa were discovered in 1928 by R J Schaffer. The finds consisted of three pieces of tessallated pavement found in making the road outside his house at 97 Chiltern Avenue, Bushey. Roman tile fragments were also discovered in his garden.

The finds consisted of 3 pieces of tessallated pavement found in making the road outside his house at 97 Chiltern Avenue, Bushey (TQ 1443 9500 sited from OS 1:2500 1968). Roman tile fragments were also discovered in his garden. (1-4)
