| Summary : Mound, possibly a motte, situated 80 yards north-north-east of Cranford Bridge. Field investigations in 1957 found it to be circular in plan, with a diameter of 45ft, and about 8ft - 9ft high, enclosed by a ditch, which was mostly filled in. The mound had been mutilated by construction of a wartime block house and by road widening. |

circular, 45' diam. at the top and about 8'-9' high; the ditch
is now mostly filled in [Centred at TQ 10097704 [Condition -
fairly good]
3.This mound, which has been mutilated by a war time block
house, has been located and surveyed on the Antiquity Model
at TQ 10087704.
4. Further mutilation caused by road widening.
