More information : ['A': TQ 18585132] TUMULUS [OE] (1) ['A'] A bowl shaped barrow. 63 feet in diameter and 8 feet in height, covered with trees. Visited in 1934 having been informed of it by Dr. W. Hooper. ['B' - area centred TQ 18135123] The mound is c.45 feet in diameter and is partly surrounded by a ditch 9 feet wide and 1 foot deep, not visible on the southern and lower slope. The mound is 1 1/2 feet above road-level on the north and c.7 feet above ground-level on the south. It appears to be the usual bowl-barrow. Visited, 1932 & 1934. [Both sites sited by geographical coordinates] Situated on the main N. Downs ridge. (2) 'A' - TQ 18575132 : A bowl barrow 18.0m. in diameter and 2.0m. high; no trace of ditch. Condition good but covered with undergrowth. 'B' - TQ 18055122, A mound completely gutted with the NW quadrant partly destroyed by the terracing of a road. The diameter appears to have been about 15.0m. and the mound (? barrow) is still 1.7m. high on the S. The remains of a ditch are visible in the NE quadrant, elsewhere it has been destroyed. Overgrown with trees and undergrowth. A 25" AM Survey has been made. (3) Description and survey of 26.10.61 still correct. (4)
