More information : An alien cell of Benedictine monks was founded during the reign of William II at Toft Monks (TM 4295). It may have had 3 or 4 monks with the prior, but the prior was probably alone in the 14th century, though he acted as proctor in England for the Norman abbey of Preaux. Suppressed circa 1414, it was granted to Witham Priory, but transferred in 1462 to King's College, Cambridge. (1)
