Summary : A moated manor house comprising a 15th century north range and a 16th century west range, both with flint retaining walls below jetties on there moated sides but are otherwise timber framed. Two timber-framed blocks were added in the 17th century and an eastern range of the 19th century. |
More information : [TM 06786083] COLUMBYNE HALL [LB] (1) Columbyne Hall is of flint with a timber-framed oversailing upper storey. There is a large moat. (2-3) Columbyne Hall (a) is a 15th/16th c. 'L' shaped building with jettied upper storeys incorporating a 16th c. chimney stack and modern additions to the E. end. Although it is not a particularly outstanding example of its type it is impressive in its position in the NW corner of a complete and waterfilled moat with the jettying overhanging the water.
