Summary : Small 12th century motte and bailey.
More information : (TL 94974611) Milden Castle (NR) (site of) (NAT) (1) Milden Castle, known as Foxburrow Hill, is a small mid 12th century motte and bailey castle, now much mutilated. The circular mound is circa 12 ft high and was surrounded by a moat. Little is left of the bailey to the north, or the ditch. (2-3) The motte is in good condition but the bailey ditch has been completely destroyed by quarrying. Surveyed at 25". (4)
