More information : [TL 9862 3627] St. Mary's Church [T.U.] (1) Stoke-by-Nayland Church is almost entirely Perpendicular, but the chancel and a small chapel at the E. end of the N. aisle are 14th cent. The tower is late 15th cent., and the N. porch now used as a vestry, is of Tudor brickwork. (2) Stoke-by-Nayland Church was renovated in 1865. [Full description of church, monuments, etc.] (3) "Church of St. Mary, Stoke by Nayland. 27/39. Grade A. Parish Church. Fine C.15 building with W. tower 120 ft. in 4 stages. Length of building 168 ft. Good W. door and window. Tudor N. porch. Good fittings and monuments." (4) Dedication: 'St. Mary the Virgin' (notices). The church is in regular use.
