Summary : Fine 16th century red brick moated mansion, incorporating an earlier timber-framed building. Externally surmounted by a moat and brick revetments and is approached by brick bridges on the south and west sides. The interior was remodelled by Hopper after a fire in 1822. Alterations were carried out during the 18th and 19th century. There is an interesting building on the west of the hall which is probably a surving part of the original house, now used as a barn. |
