Summary : Augustinian Priory of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Thomas the Martyr founded by Sir Hugh de Plaiz circa beginning of 13th century, was well established by 1224. Probably for at least seven canons, there being seven in 1381, but only five in 1514 when a school-house was mentioned in the priory. Suppressed 1528 for Cardinal Wolsey's college at Ipswich; demolition work was undertaken immediately. |

Nothing in visible of the priory except some worked stones in the farmhouse. The church lay to the NE of the house. (4) |
