A turf covered earthwork on a hill top commanding an extensive all round view, consists of a mound formed by a substantial horse-shoe shaped bank, with an outer ditch on its N and E sides (3). It is known to have been used as the site of a medieval beacon (2)See GPs AO/58/248/1 & 2. (2-3)
