MONUMENT NO. 376028

DESCRIPTION + /

Site of a Roman courtyard villa. A piece of mosaic pavement was found in 1749, and the area has produced Roman burials, coins, pottery and glass. Some of the burials may have come from 'a vault about 3 yards square paved with bricks about 9" square', containing burial urns and bones, found about 1780. Building foundations have been observed in drainage ditches. The site of the villa is indicated by a surface scatter of building debris.
