More information : A moated mound lies on the south side of Pole Lane, 300 yds north-east of Magdalen Laver church, and with a modern causeway on the south-east. (TL 51590842) Feature shown but not described on OS 6". The mound is about 80ft in diameter at the base and rises to a height of about 15ft above the bottom of the moat, which is 6ft deep. In fairly good condition. (1-3) A typical moated mill mound situated on high ground at present covered with trees. It measures overall 36.0m in diameter with the top 14.0m in diameter by about 4.5m high. The ditch (seasonally dry) is broken by an original causeway on the south east. Surveyed at 1:2500. (4)
