Summary : Modern house, possibly with Tudor/17th/18th century features internally. Documentary evidence suggests the house was once surrounded by a ditch. Also the possible site of a pele tower, but no physical evidence is now visible.
More information : (SD 10168974) Ford House. (T.I.) (1) Ford House was probably a guard house of Seaton Priory (SD 18 NW 1), and stands upon a levelled platform surrounded by a ditch-site of a Curia Garth. There may have been a pele tower, and the house incorporates Tudor, 17th and 18th century work. (2) The house has a modern exterior but possibly incorporates 17th and 18th cent. internal features. No trace of a pele tower or surrounding ditch. (3)
