More information : (TL 30023801) Tumulus (NR) Gallows Hill (NAT) (1) Situated on Gallows Hill, it is in fairly good condition, but thickly planted. (Possibly a gallows mound or barrow re-used as such). (2) This was probably a barrow. The remains are now amorphous, tree planted, and mutilated by burrows and dumped building debris. It is prominently situated at the W end of a chalk ridge, and measures circa 22.0m in overall diameter and 1.1m in height. Published survey (25") revised. (3)
