MONKS HOLE BARROW

DESCRIPTION + /

The earthwork and buried remains of a rectilinear mound and surrounding enclosure suggested to be a Bronze Age barrow which is located within the extensive remains of a probable Iron Age or Roman settlement visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs. It is possible that an earlier mound, possibly a round barrow, was incorporated into the later settlement.
