WORMEGAY PRIORY

DESCRIPTION + /

Site of Augustinian Priory founded between 1189-9 by William de Warrenne. It was only a small priory, probably with never more than 7 canons. It was impoverished in the 15th century, which caused it to be united with Pentney Priory in 1468. Dissolved in 1537. The only remains are the surrounding moat and two fishponds.
