TF 68160980. A tile kiln probably 15th-16th century excavated 1969-70. Possibly associated with repairs and later reconstruction of the Priory, about 1400 and later. (6,7)
Nothing visible on air photographs. (8)
The modern Abbey Farm contains no fabric "in situ" relative to the Gilbertine Double House. Earthworks to the south of the farm constitute early fields, roads, fishponds and drainage, all probably contemporary with the Priory but over-ridden in parts by later quarrying; the published 'moat' cannot in fact be classified as such being an inherent part of the field complex. There are no structural remains of the tile kiln reported by auths 6 & 7 nor is kiln debris evident. The burial ground (authy 5 refers) is now under crop. Earthworks revised/surveyed on 1:2500 AM.
