Sir Christopher Wray (1524-92) had a castellated mansion
surrounded by a moat, at Ashby. The present house is modern.

Moat House is an early 19th C farmhouse.
Moat resurveyed at 1/2500. (4)

The moat recorded by Authorities 2-4 was seen as an earthwork and
mapped from poor quality air photographs. It is an incomplete,
four sided enclosure, 40m by 45m. Centred at:-TF 4262 6642
(Morph No. LI.178.1.1)
