NT 90042325. A small complex of three conjoined enclosures, slightly scooped, and formed in the main by consolidated earth and stone banks. Three small circular depressions surrounded by stone, external on the south side, may represent hut sites, and there are indications of one internal hutment. To the east of the enclosures, there are the foundations of two rectangular buildings, and remains of a rubble field wall. This is an RB settlement with later occupation. Divorced survey at 6" scale. A Roman period native enclosed settlement and Medieval shieling 165m north east of Dunsdale. Earthwork remains of three conjoined enclosures of earth and stone banks, the interiors of these enclosures are slightly scooped into the ground surface. The circular stone foundations of several prehistoric buildings lie within and adjacent to the enclosures. The stone foundation of a rectangular building of Medieval date, interpreted as a shieling, lies to the east of the enclosures. The enclosing wall for the settlement may have been eroded by the Bizzle and Lambden Burns; scheduled. (4)
