Summary : Benedictine priory cell founded circa 1082, transferred to Kirkstead Abbey in 1303.
More information : A small Benedictine priory, dependent on St. Calais, was founded at Covenham in 1082. There were probably never more than one or two monks, and in 1303 the cell was sold to Kirkstead Abbey. [Covenham Grange is published at TF 3533 9569]. (1)
