More information : (TF 2325 8693) Tumulus (NR). (1) A round barrow, 19 paces across and 7 ft high. Worked flints have been found round the barrow. (2) Known locally as Grim's Mound. (3) Grim's Mound (name verified, (a)), scheduled as a barrow, is situated in a field called Bain Close, on high ground and covered by scrub. It has a diameter of 18.0m, a maximum height of 2.6m has been slightly mutilated on east side by a track. There is no indication of an outer ditch, ploughing having been carried out right up to the foot of the mound. Published 25" survey correct. (4)
