REVESBY ABBEY

DESCRIPTION + /

Cistercian Abbey founded in 1142 and dissolved in 1539. The complex is visible as earthworks and situated within a ditched enclosure. An adjacent moated enclosure may be of later date. Excavations of the abbey has located the church and cloister and the associated inhumation cemetery.
