Summary : Medieval/Post Medieval deserted village seen as earthworks.
More information : [TF 1390 9355] The site of the deserted hamlet of Otby is now represented by a farm. (1)(2) Considerable disturbance is evident in the area noted but none of it is recognisable as desertion. (3) Deserted settlement earthwork remains from the Medieval/Post Medieval periods were surveyed by the RCHME on the ground (4a) and mapped from air photographs. The main area of settlement (TF 1385 9377) is situated to the north of Otby House (TF 1390 9355) and consists of an ordered series of conjoined enclosures some of which contain buildings. Other features visible on the ground include small mounds and depressions which probably represent former buildings and associated farm yards. (4)
