Summary : Parish church. Late 12th-early 13th century, circa 1300, 15th century, restored 19th century. Coursed ironstone rubble, limestone ashlar, some render. Plain tile roofs with some decorative red ridge tiles and stone coped gables with cross finials. West tower and spire, nave with north and south aisles and south porch, chancel with north chapel. |
More information : [TF 10672525] St. Andrew's Church [T.U.] (1) St. Andrew's Church, Hacconby, is Early English, Decorated, and Perpendicular, much restored in 1900. The font is probably Norman. (2-3) In normal use. There is much discordance over the spelling of Hacconby but generally 'Hacconby' is used for the village and 'Haconby' for the parish. (4) 14C square tower with spire. 15C N. aisle & chapel N. of chancel. 15C clerestorey. 13C N. & S. nave arcades. 15C S. aisle. 14C octagonal pulpit with remains of painted panels, possibly made up from a rood screen. 12C round font. 15C S. porch & door. Rubble and ashlar. (5-6)
