More information : TF 153 258 HACCONBY Lode, west: Five rectilinear enclosures strung along 400 ft of double drove, block of four and pair to S; ploughed [LH7, W clear, E vague]. (1) This site falls on fairly flat arable fenland at present under crop. Not perambulated. (2)
Iron Age/Roman trackways and enclosures are visible as cropmarks running along an east-west alignment on air photographs, at TF 1585 2589. The trackway is visible from 'South Forty Foot Drain' at the east and runs west across at least 5 fields. The features are visible on the latest 2008 specialist oblique photography. (3) |
