Air photographs show further rectangular enclosures within the outer moat, quite distinct from, and later than, traces of other relief or crop marks which extend widely over the whole area and are reminiscent of Romano-British settlement sites to the west, see TF 12 NE 1-5 (2) An extensive Manorial site comprising basically an inner and outer moat. Local research failed to locate any literary references. Published survey (25") revised (3) Published. No change. (4) TF 195270.
