TF 031 359. Haceby moated site. Scheduled no. LI/240. (4)
A Medieval and/or Post Medieval moat and associated features referred to by the previous authorities were seen as earthworks and mapped from poor quality air photographs. The moat is a rectilinear enclosure, with internal dimensions of 50m by 30m. It is defined by a substantial ditch and is centred at TF 0314 3598. The inlets referred to by authority two were visible. North of the moat are the fragmentary remains of three bank defined, rectilinear, conjoined enclosures. These measure on average 80m by 45m and are centred at TF 0314 3609. Adjacent to these are three terraces measuring on average 40m by 10m and centred at TF 0308 3604. The photography was too poor to see if these were garden terraces associated with a Post Medieval use of the site or if they had some other function and date. (Morph No. LI.840.1.1-3)
