Summary : Medieval moated manor house and associated earthworks. Roman and Medieval pottery also recovered.
More information : [Area TF 09133595(1)] A moated site which probably represents the former manor house in Hall Close, Threekingham.

Ground irregularities are probably foundations. A large sherd of
medieval pottery has been found by Captain Cragg (2). (1-2)

At TF 09103607 is a possible building site with an associated
fish pond; surveyed at 1/2500.

Adjacent unsurveyable earthworks represent minor enclosures;
there is no indication of a moated site.

Capt. Cragg is now dead, the present location of the pottery was
not determined. (3)

TF 09043604 A large sherd of Thetford ware was found by Capt. Cragg. It is now in Lincoln Museum. A Roman pot base found at the same spot by Cragg (see TF 03 NE 13) has no known whereabouts. (4)

There is nothing visible on air photographs (b). The site is as
described by Auth 3, and is located in a level pasture field.

AM survey of 17 5 65 correct. (5)

The features recorded above are for the most part obscured by tree
cover on all available air photography. (6)
