Summary : Medieval manor house, demolished in 1947, with contemporary formal garden features (ornamental pond and gazebo mound) still surviving as earthworks.

Osgodby Hall, an Elizabethan manor house, became the seat of the
Armyne family in 1362. (2)

A chimney, is all that remains of the house which was demolished
in 1947.

The barn at TF 01872807, had three stories in 1900 but has since
been reduced to one.

To the south of the Hall three ornamental ponds and a gazebo
mound represent early formal gardens.

Published 1:2500 survey revised on AM. (3)

No change since 28 5 65. AM Survey correct. (4)

No evidence of the site of the manor house described by
authorities 1-2, was visible on air photographs.

The formal garden features, described by authority 3, were seen
as earthworks and mapped from poor quality air photographs.
Centred at TF 0195 2789 is a group of four rectangular ponds,
varying in size from 10m-40m in length. North of the ponds, at
TF 0194 2800, is a circular mound, 10m in diameter, described by
authority 3 as a gazebo mound.
